Not only have we appreciated everything 100 Acre has done for our son but I will be beyond sad for him to leave. Myself and his dad see the staff as an extension of our family and will be eternally grateful for the help and support in the earliest years of his life whereby we have had to return to work and are entrusting people in caring for our child as we do and we found this at 100 Acre. -Parent of preschool child June 2018
100 Acre Wood is a small nursery which offers child care for children aged 0-5 years. Here at 100 Acre we are dedicated to providing the highest standards for day care, while still maintaining a caring homely, atmosphere, where your child will feel happy, safe and secure.
The nursery is set out in a large cottage, there are 5 well equipped play rooms and a sleeping/rest room. The children also have daily access to our large safe enclosed garden. With climbing equipment, large sandpit for group activities and a playhouse for role-play.
We have outside caterers called Early Years Catering who prepare fresh well balanced and healthy meals for your child. They provide a two course hot lunch, a variety of mid morning snacks and a light early evening tea. We place a lot of emphasis on a healthy balanced diet and can adapt meals to suit individual dietary needs.
The nursery staff are dedicated to offering your child a warm and caring environment, with stimulating and fun activities. At 100 acre your child will always be seen as an individual.
We have an open door policy, which means at any time you can come into the nursery no appointment is necessary. We feel it's very important for parents to feel part of the whole process and look forward to hearing your ideas and comments.
The First Floor
Our Baby Room is split into two sides, these individualised environments are specifically designed to help each stage of personal, social, emotional and physical development. This enables our children to develop at a rate that is comfortable to them as individuals. This is supported through the establishment of strong bonds and the nurturing of child - adult connections with our Key Person system.
This process has been put in place to benefit your child through their time with us and is done by involving you fully in the child's day. This will include using communication books, phone calls and pictures of your child's learning and experiences. You are welcome to call at anytime throughout the day to find out how your child is settling and progressing with their day.
We recognise that children within this age range will be at different stages, some will be crawling and others will be taking their first few steps. We aim to offer your child the attention they need at this young age. This happens through allowing them to explore and develop. These rooms are equipped with toys and equipment specifically for this age group. There is a separate sleep room, equipped with cots and a baby monitor for your child to continue the routine you have set at home.
We follow the Early Years Foundation Stage curriculum for all ages, and so activities are planned according to this and also to the children's individual ability.
Toddler Room: Ages 18-22 months
In the toddler room your child will be offered different activities to help with every stage of their development, puzzles, colouring, finger and brush painting, lots of textured activities, we like to allow young children room to express themselves and develop at their own speed. We help the children to learn to share, socialise and communicate, in many different ways such as stories, singing, music and dance.
The Ground Floor
Pre-school Room: Ages 3 - 5 years
The pre-school is set out in two conjoined well-equipped playrooms. We have an area for role play and dressing up, a book corner, and a learning zone, which supports development through access to a computer, maths, science, writing and literacy. The rooms then flow through to our conservatory, there is an extensive art and craft area, painting is available every day, as is sand and water play. This room leads directly out onto decking and then into our garden to allow for 'free flow' play.
Our pre-school children are offered a mixture of free play and adult lead activities which are carefully planned to stimulate and interest your child and help on-going development. We cover the 4 themes of the Early Years Foundation Stage and work towards the early learning goals which are: Personal, Social and Emotional development; Communication, Language and Literacy; Problem - solving, reasoning and Numeracy; Knowledge and understanding of the world; Physical Development and Creative Development.
The Garden & Allotment
Frampton nursery has a wonderful enclosed large rear garden, with areas to for sit and ride toys, an all weather outside play space, areas for digging and a large sand pit, the children in pre-school are able to free flow play inside the nursery or outside in the garden.
The garden is very well equipped with a variety of play equipment for the children to use, for example there are materials for making dens and a car wash station, mark making and maths.
The front garden is also enclosed but laid to lawn with mature trees for summer shade and flower boarders, its a lovely space for our very young children to play and explore, equipment is set up each day so the children experience a variety of outside play, stories are read under the large tree and picnic set up in the warmer weather.
In addition to the garden spaces the nursery has a selection of triple buggies which allow for the babies to be taken on regular walks in and around Frampton, where there is a nearby duck pond, horses in fields and parks.
We are extremely lucky to have been given by the local parish council a patch on the nearby allotments, we took on this exciting addition in Oct 2012, and have been busy designing the layout with the children, our intention is to grow some of our own vegetables for eating and flowers , families are welcome and encouraged to get stuck in and can help out and take their own children there, we see this very much as a community project and welcome all helpers.

We place a lot of emphasis on self-evaluation, training and re-investment. Feed back from parents/carers is always sought and valued and acted on.
We believe that partnerships with parents is of the utmost importance as, after all, who knows your children better!
Whilst at nursery, your child will be allocated a Keyworker and a buddy through our Key person and buddy system. If for any reason your child's Keyworker is not in, then the buddy will take over the care and well being of your child.
Your child's key person will be responsible for the day to day care of your child ensuring routines are regularly reviewed and updated and for keeping records of your child's achievements and ongoing development.
They will provide you with progress reports on a regular basis, and of course meet with you to discuss your child at a time to suit you.
If your child is under three, they will be provided with a daily diary. This will include all information about your child's day and any comments from their key person. These book are sent home with you at the end of your child's session and have a large space for you to write any information or comments you feel may be useful.
If your child is over 3 years of age, verbal feedback will be given about their day at the end of each session.
